About The Position

The Senior AV Broadcast Engineer designs comprehensive broadcast solutions for enterprise customers, supporting projects from sales engineering and systems design through workflow development, commissioning, acceptance testing, and end-user training. The role provides technical expertise for the architecture, installation, and planning of audio, video, and control solutions, and produces high-quality project documentation aligned with Technical Services Standards. The engineer develops CAD drawings, system descriptions, equipment research and selections, customer product designs, and system integrations. The position also researches hardware and software capabilities, develops rough-order-of-magnitude pricing and plans, designs integrated audiovisual systems tailored to customer needs, prepares quotes and bills of materials, and supports teams throughout implementation. The role requires willingness to travel nationally to customer sites.

Requirements

At least five years of experience in an A/V technical position or live production technical environment.
Experience in a broadcast, television, or control room setting for live events.
Experience with government production, such as town halls, city hall productions, or judicial productions.
Strong working knowledge of broadcast signal workflows and signal types, with signal-pathway diagnostics and troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of broadcast industry standards and technologies.
Experience with IP-based video transport technologies and networking protocols.
Experience with control and automation systems.
Knowledge of current broadcast and AV technology trends and best practices.
Ability to work independently, be self-directed, and make sound decisions based on customer satisfaction.
Communication and customer relations skills.
Knowledge and ability to design broadcast systems spanning multiple standards and protocols, including SDI, NDI, SMPTE 2110, Dante, and AES67.
Ability to design, program, and configure broadcast switching, replay, routing, intercom, and audio solutions.
Ability and willingness to travel nationally to customer sites.

Key broadcast and/or AV industry certifications.
Experience designing and deploying shared editing storage and asset management solutions.
Experience as a Technical Director or EIC for production.
Experience in VR, AR, and XR system design.
Experience in sports and eSports broadcasting.
Experience in general AV design.
Experience with software, cloud, remote, and file-based production workflows.
AutoCAD experience.
IP network design and/or IP network provisioning specific to AV and broadcast applications.

Responsibilities

Design comprehensive broadcast solutions for enterprise customers.
Support sales engineering, systems design, workflow development, system commissioning, acceptance testing, and end-user training.
Provide technical expertise for the architecture, installation, and planning of audio, video, and control solutions.
Complete high-quality documentation that follows Technical Services Standards.
Provide CAD drawings, including flows, plans, elevations, and details; system descriptions; equipment research and selection; customer product design; and system integration.
Research and analyze the capabilities of available hardware and software options.
Provide rough-order-of-magnitude pricing and development plans for clients.
Design integrated audiovisual systems of hardware and software components to meet customers’ specific needs.
Build quotes and bills of materials for client proposals.
Support projects and the team throughout the implementation process.
Travel nationally to customer sites as needed.
