About The Position

VEKA is seeking an experienced Senior Automation Engineer to join its technical team in Fombell, Pennsylvania. The role designs, improves, and supports automated manufacturing systems across VEKA’s North American operations. The engineer works hands-on with automation and robotics to improve manufacturing processes and bring technical solutions to the manufacturing floor. Travel to VEKA North American locations is approximately 15%.

Requirements

• PLC and HMI programming experience.
• Experience with Siemens and Beckhoff controls.
• Robotics experience.
• Strong knowledge of industrial controls, motors, drives, and AC/DC power.
• Electrical design/CAD and control-panel design experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Associate degree in Industrial Controls or at least 5 years of related industry experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Yaskawa and Universal Robots (UR) robotics.

Responsibilities

• Design robotics, automation equipment, and control systems.
• Develop hardware and software for automated manufacturing equipment.
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, robotics, drives, and industrial controls.
• Maintain and improve existing automated machinery.
• Identify automation opportunities to improve manufacturing processes.
• Partner with maintenance and mechanical teams on equipment troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Develop ROI calculations for automation investments.
• Support electrical schematics, control-panel layouts, system architecture, and I/O assignments.
