About The Position

This position is scheduled to transfer to a local subsidiary of Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. (Thermo Fischer). By joining Solventum during this transitional period, you will be able to work alongside an energized and mission-driven team who is experiencing this transition along with you. Until the transfer is complete, you will be employed by Solventum, and your employment is subject to all applicable terms and conditions as outlined in our employment agreement and company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) AND three (3) years of controls and/or automation experience in a private, public, government, or military environment OR High School Diploma/GED AND seven (7) years of controls and/or automation experience in a private, public, government, or military environment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Controls from an accredited institution
  • Experience working with industrial PLC platforms, such as Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley systems
  • Experience supporting commissioning, startup, and sustaining activities for automated manufacturing equipment
  • Experience supporting equipment validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) within regulated manufacturing environments
  • Experience leading controls‑related scope for capital projects and coordinating with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and system integrators
  • Experience applying controls and automation technologies, including PLC programming, automation code development, HMI/SCADA systems, vision systems, robotics, and electrical and machine safety standards

Responsibilities

  • Defining, implementing, and maintaining manufacturing automation and control systems within the area of responsibility to support safe, reliable, and compliant operations.
  • Initiating, identifying, recommending, leading, and overseeing programs within the manufacturing area of responsibility to improve (1) product cost, service, and quality and/or (2) process safety and health/environmental impact.
  • Independently solving technical problems within the area of responsibility.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert within the area of responsibility.
  • Demonstrating scientifically sound written and oral communication in technical and operational contexts.
  • Complying with corporate policies, procedures and security standards while performing assigned duties.
