Requirements

• A minimum of two years’ experience as an associate (or equivalent experience as deemed appropriate by the partners).
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or another related field.
• CPA license or progress towards licensure.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Supervising less experienced staff auditors and for supervising audits to clients in the insurance, nonprofit, and employee benefit plan industries.
• Performing, planning and/or reporting for your clients.
• Researching a complex accounting topic for your client.
• Leading your audit team at your client’s office where you will work directly with the controller, CFOs and CEOs as a trusted advisor.
• Getting to know our clients, their business and how they work to provide the right service.
• Proactively assist the team in various aspects of the project from strategy to execution.
• Know and understand the firm’s policies and procedures.
• Possess technical knowledge sufficient to supervise associates and begin strengthening the soft skills to support evaluating their performance.
• Begin acquiring the skills necessary to develop quality client relationships and loyalty.
• Begin developing a command of pertinent accounting and auditing rules.
• Become proficient at accounting and auditing research including knowledge of the reference sources available to the firm.
• Possess a working knowledge of firm technology, including the use of e-mail and the Internet; and the use of firm spreadsheet, word processing, and time and billing software.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise the various phases of an audit engagement.
