We’re looking for a professional who is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about auditing. The ideal candidate will be capable of working with minimal supervision, demonstrate strong analytical skills, and possess a solid foundation in audit regulations and accounting principles.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years’ experience as an associate (or equivalent experience as deemed appropriate by the partners).
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or another related field.
  • CPA license or progress towards licensure.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising less experienced staff auditors and supervising audits to clients in the insurance, nonprofit, and employee benefit plan industries.
  • Performing, planning and/or reporting for your clients.
  • Researching a complex accounting topic for your client.
  • Leading audit teams at client offices and working directly with controllers, CFOs, and CEOs as a trusted advisor.
  • Getting to know clients, their business and how they work to provide the right service.
  • Proactively assisting the team in various aspects of the project from strategy to execution.
  • Knowing and understanding the firm’s policies and procedures.
  • Possessing technical knowledge sufficient to supervise associates and begin strengthening the soft skills to support evaluating their performance.
  • Acquiring the skills necessary to develop quality client relationships and loyalty.
  • Developing a command of pertinent accounting and auditing rules.
  • Becoming proficient at accounting and auditing research including knowledge of the reference sources available to the firm.
  • Possessing a working knowledge of firm technology, including the use of e-mail and the Internet; and the use of firm spreadsheet, word processing, and time and billing software.
  • Planning, coordinating, and supervising the various phases of an audit engagement.
