About The Position

The Senior Attorney role requires a highly skilled, business-oriented individual with the ability to navigate a wide range of legal, regulatory, and operational matters. The ideal candidate will bring a practical, solutions-focused approach to legal challenges and be comfortable advising senior leadership, including executive management and the Board of Directors. This position operates in a dynamic in-office environment, serving as a trusted partner to the business by balancing risk with opportunity, while playing a key role in shaping legal strategy, ensuring compliance, and supporting sound decision-making across the organization.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active license and good standing with the Texas Bar
  • Minimum of 5+ years of corporate law experience (in-house or law firm)
  • Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Demonstrated knowledge of corporate governance and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to senior leadership, including C-suite executives, on corporate governance, risk, and business operations
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer, supplier, manufacturing, and lease agreements
  • Oversee licensing management, including contractor and technician licensing and renewals
  • Manage regulatory compliance efforts across multiple jurisdictions, including state, provincial, and local code requirements (e.g., elevator and pool regulations)
  • Lead insurance program management, including general liability, E&O, and cyber coverage
  • Manage litigation and disputes, including coordination with outside counsel
  • Provide guidance on privacy, data security, and incident/breach response
  • Advise on cross-border legal matters involving Canada and Mexico, including employment, customs, and commercial relationships
  • Support mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence and post-acquisition integration
  • Provide legal support to HR on employment-related matters
  • Oversee intellectual property protection and strategy
