Charles River Associates (CRA) is a global consulting firm providing economic, financial, and business management expertise to law firms, corporations, and governments. The Finance practice uses expertise in finance, accounting, and economics to address significant legal and regulatory issues, including quantifying economic damages in complex commercial litigation. Work may involve valuation disputes and matters concerning financial markets and institutions, with analyses presented in expert reports for court. Senior Associates work closely with CRA colleagues and academic experts on project teams. They develop and guide complex financial and economic analyses, draw insights from models and data, prepare client deliverables, and interact with clients and other stakeholders. They may also supervise junior analysts, support business development, and contribute to practice development. The role is designed for candidates graduating with a PhD in Finance or Accounting in late 2026 or 2027. CRA supports career growth through formal and informal skills development, technical and presentation training, internal seminars, mentoring, and performance coaching. The work arrangement is flexible between office and home: CRA currently asks employees to work in the office an average of three to four days per week, potentially including travel to another CRA office or a client location. Specific days are coordinated with the practice or team.
