Senior Associate - Tax and Accounting
About The Position
Good Works Talent is partnering with Driven Tax Strategies, a growing Wichita-based tax planning and tax preparation firm, to identify an experienced Senior Tax Accountant who enjoys solving complex tax challenges, building long-term client relationships, and helping businesses and individuals make smarter financial decisions. This role extends beyond compliance into planning, consulting, mentoring, and leadership. Driven Tax Strategies believes tax planning should be proactive, partnering with clients throughout the year to minimize taxes, improve financial outcomes, and make informed decisions. They offer strategic tax planning, bookkeeping, payroll, and advisory services. This is a full-time, exempt position.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 5–8+ years of progressive tax experience
- Public accounting experience
- Experience preparing complex individual and business tax returns
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax law
- Experience researching technical tax issues
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines during tax season
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Thomson Reuters or CCH tax software
- Experience with QuickBooks
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Experience with advanced Excel
- CPA or Enrolled Agent credentials
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review complex individual and business tax returns.
- Research challenging tax issues.
- Develop proactive tax-planning strategies.
- Mentor less-experienced accountants.

- Help shape the future of a growing practice.
- Manage complex tax engagements from initial information gathering through final filing.
- Mentor staff accountants, review technical work, and provide coaching.
- Contribute to raising the quality and consistency of the firm's tax practice.
- Develop technical expertise, client management skills, and leadership capability.
