Senior Associate Specialist, Accounting
About The Position
The Senior Associate Specialist, Accounting supports core accounting operations by completing assigned accounting tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures. The role assists with journal entries, reconciliations, financial close activities, and audit support while developing technical accounting knowledge and experience. The Senior Associate Specialist works closely with Specialists and Managers to help ensure accurate financial records, timely close activities, and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. This is a remote position requiring reliable internet connection and electricity. Work is performed during US business hours and time zones, and some travel may be required. A monthly stipend is provided for remote-work expenses and use of a personal mobile device, if applicable.
Requirements
- Foundational understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and general ledger processes.
- Experience supporting journal entries, reconciliations, and close activities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Analytical mindset and ability to follow established processes.
- Organized and able to manage deadlines with guidance.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical accounting expertise.
- Professional, ethical, and collaborative working style.
- 2–4 years of experience in accounting, finance, or audit roles.
- Experience supporting journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle, and strong Excel skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Prepare routine journal entries and accounting adjustments under established guidelines.
- Assist in maintaining accurate general ledger records.
- Support investigation of discrepancies in ledger accounts and transactional data.
- Follow internal controls and standard accounting procedures to ensure data integrity.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts, including accruals and prepayments.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities by preparing schedules and documentation.
- Assist in identifying variances and discrepancies and escalate findings for review.
- Maintain organized close documentation and workpapers.
- Assist in preparing routine operational and statutory financial reports.
- Support preparation of accounting schedules and reports for management and auditors.
- Ensure assigned reporting deliverables are accurate and completed on time.
- Support process improvement initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist in maintaining and updating accounting templates and documentation.
- Collaborate with accounting team members and cross-functional finance teams to resolve routine issues.
- Perform other accounting-related tasks as assigned.
