About The Position

Sanofi is seeking a talented and highly motivated Senior Associate Scientist to join the Molecular, Expression and Screening Technologies (MEST) Group within Sanofi’s North America R&D Large Molecule Research (LMR) organization. The lab-based candidate will be part of the Screening and Imaging sub-group and will be responsible for high-throughput functional screening of candidate molecules. The focus of this position is on the day-to-day operation of lab automation devices (dispensers, liquid handlers etc.), and an integrated high-throughput screening system, maintenance and troubleshooting of this system and its components. Experience with mammalian cell culture, i.e. maintenance and expansion of reporter cell lines, is instrumental. Requirements

  • BS or MS in biology, chemistry or related field and at least 2 years of experience in a research laboratory or a biopharma/biotech company.
  • Experience in running automated, high throughput lab instrumentation (e.g. Agilent Bravo, Tecan Fluent, Integra Assist+)
  • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to work with biological registration systems (e.g. Genedata Screener, Genedata Biologics)
  • Ability to work with large datasets through a variety of methods (e.g. Excel, Spotfire)
  • Molecular Biology skills are a plus, as is experience with scheduling software and scripting
  • Experience with an integrated high-throughput screening system and scheduling software
  • Detail-oriented, fastidious, strong skills in organization, time management, and teamwork
  • Ability to present findings to diverse scientific groups in a clear and concise manner

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on day-to-day maintenance of mammalian cell cultures (passaging, monitoring, contamination control, cryopreservation, thawing).
  • Operation and routine maintenance of lab automation equipment (liquid handlers, dispensers) and a small integrated robotic system; adapt to different vendors/instrument models.
  • Perform standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain accurate experimental logs and inventory records.
  • Basic troubleshooting of cell culture workflows and automation pipelines; escalate complex issues appropriately.
  • Support sample handling workflows for high-throughput cellular assays and coordinate with team members for experiments.
  • Follow safety and regulatory protocols for working with biological materials.
