About The Position

Capital One’s Small Business Bank (SBB) is seeking a highly organized and self-motivated Senior Associate to help build its Data Evangelization function. The role combines project management and strategic communications to promote the SBB data program and execute high-priority business initiatives supporting the bank’s data transformation agenda.

The Senior Associate will work with leaders and stakeholders across the organization to shape the SBB data story, promote data services, deliver project objectives, escalate issues, and gain stakeholder buy-in. The role also manages governance routines, tracks objectives and key results (OKRs), supports internal communications, and contributes to programs that strengthen connectivity and the associate experience. This is a hybrid position, with required on-site presence according to Capital One’s hybrid policy.

The role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives. The stated full-time annual salary ranges are $96,500–$110,100 in McLean, Virginia, and $87,700–$100,100 in Richmond, Virginia, for the Sr. Project Manager pay designation. Salary for other locations is determined by the applicable location range and reflected in the offer letter.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
• At least 1 year of project management experience.
• At least 1 year of communications experience.
• Ability to manage simultaneous projects, prioritize, take ownership, and adapt to strategic shifts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to distill complex content into concise project updates and present to diverse audiences.
• Strong business acumen and a history of establishing trusting, collaborative work relationships.
• Curiosity, goal orientation, interest in learning about Capital One’s data environment, and eagerness to drive innovation.
• Strong customer orientation and ability to introduce structure in dynamic environments.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree or military experience.
• At least 2 years of project management experience.
• At least 2 years of communications experience.
• At least 2 years of experience working with cross-functional teams.
• PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage project frameworks to keep high-priority data initiatives on track.
• Partner cross-functionally, provide tactical thought partnership, and influence stakeholders at various levels toward common goals.
• Oversee internal and external-facing governance routines, including Monthly Business Reviews, OKR tracking, and strategy reporting.
• Advance the data communications strategy and implement creative solutions to reach target audiences and foster relationships with adjacent teams.
• Identify themes and use data insights to inform narratives and develop thoughtful content about the SBB data story.
• Support programs and routines that foster connectivity, enrich the associate experience, and assist with cross-functional project design.
• Deliver on project objectives, escalate appropriately, and gain stakeholder buy-in.
