Overview of the Senior Associate, Corporate Actions The Senior Associate, Corporate Actions is responsible for the accurate and timely completion of assigned operational work related to corporate action events. Following established procedures and guidelines, this role reviews event announcements and supporting materials, enters required information into proprietary systems, and maintains complete records for voluntary and mandatory events, bankruptcies, class actions, and other corporate action activity. The Senior Associate works with internal team members and external parties to obtain required information, resolve routine discrepancies, and complete assigned daily tasks and projects. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Typically 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in financial services operations, securities processing, corporate actions, or a related area.
  • Working knowledge of corporate action events and related operational processes.
  • Ability to review detailed event documentation and apply established procedures accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail, data-entry accuracy, and recordkeeping skills.
  • Ability to manage assigned daily work, recurring responsibilities, medium-term tasks, and projects within established deadlines.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies, resolve routine issues, and escalate matters that require additional judgment or expertise.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with internal and external parties.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn proprietary systems and databases.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently within defined guidelines and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Execute day-to-day corporate action processing activities in accordance with established procedures, guidelines, controls, and service standards.
  • Review corporate action announcements, offering materials, regulatory filings, and other supporting documentation to identify information required for assigned events.
  • Accurately and promptly enter and maintain event details in proprietary systems and relevant databases.
  • Process assigned voluntary and mandatory corporate actions, bankruptcies, class actions, and other event types within established timelines.
  • Perform routine validation and quality checks to confirm that event information and supporting records are accurate and complete.
  • Identify missing, inconsistent, or unclear information and escalate non-routine issues to more experienced team members or management.
  • Communicate with corporate issuers, solicitors, information agents, transfer agents, and internal partners to obtain documentation or clarify routine event details.
  • Maintain organized records, files, and documentation associated with assigned corporate action activities.
  • Monitor assigned work and deadlines to support timely completion of daily responsibilities, medium-term tasks, and projects.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production, quality, and client service expectations.
  • Participate in team projects and provide input on opportunities to improve the accuracy or efficiency of established processes.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
