This role involves applying computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for target applications. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and to define operational performance requirements and overall system design. The role supports all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and testing of embedded software for real-time control of advanced tactical radio equipment. Responsibilities include developing software test procedures, programs, and related documentation, as well as utilizing modeling tools and equipment for data establishment, experimental testing, and result evaluation. The position also involves participating in peer reviews, defect identification, tracking, and repair. A variety of software languages and platforms are utilized, including C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, HTML5, XML, SQL, Perl, Python, Ajax, Qt on Windows, Linux, mobile platforms, and embedded real-time operating systems (VxWorks, Linux, QNX, Integrity, Windows CE, and others for Motorola, Intel, TI, and custom processor designs). Additionally, the role applies digital signal processing (DSP), communication systems, and software engineering concepts for software development, with an understanding of time domain versus frequency domain analysis, filter structures, and modulation/coding algorithms. The role operates in an agile environment.
