About The Position

Namati is dedicated to putting the law in people's hands, building a global movement of grassroots advocates who work alongside communities to help them protect their land, safeguard their environment, and shape the decisions that govern their lives. The Global Operations team is the connective tissue that makes Namati's mission possible, ensuring that staff across multiple countries have the tools, systems, and support they need to do their best work, and that the Washington, DC office runs smoothly. Operations is where precision and creativity meet, managing everything from software and hardware to coordinating events and documenting processes. The Senior Associate, Global Operations will be a key contributor, supporting Namati's technology infrastructure, contributing to knowledge management, and managing day-to-day DC office operations and reception. Reporting to the Senior Operations Officer, this role is for an operations generalist who finds satisfaction in supporting people and improving processes. The ideal candidate is comfortable troubleshooting technology and orienting new staff, possesses a service orientation, strong organizational skills, and adaptability to ambiguity and changing priorities. They should be highly organized, communicate clearly, and take pride in follow-through, understanding the critical nature of behind-the-scenes work.

Requirements

  • At least two (2+) years of professional experience in operations, office management, or a related administrative or support role.

  • Must already be legally authorized to work in the United States; Namati cannot sponsor visas.
  • In-office presence at our office in DuPont Circle will be a regular and important part of the job, expecting to be on-site at least 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • General office management, including routing calls and messages, mail collection, check deposits, plant care, and maintaining coffee and stationery supplies.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with building management for maintenance and repair needs.
  • Orient visitors and new staff to the DC office.
  • Document and maintain standard operating procedures for key operational processes.
  • Support the ongoing maintenance and improvement of Namati's intranet (the Knowledge Hub).
  • Develop and maintain training and troubleshooting resources for Namati's technology platforms.
  • Support change management efforts by creating communications, training materials, and guidance for new or updated policies.
  • Coordinate travel insurance coverage for staff travel.
  • Provide first-line IT support for Namati systems, including answering basic staff questions, resetting passwords, and triaging technical issues.
  • Coordinate with Namati's external IT service provider for hardware troubleshooting and escalated technical issues.
  • Support Zoom calls and virtual meetings as a technical host.
  • Support the management of software licenses across the organization.
  • Research, test, manage, support, and audit the implementation and use of new technology, platforms, and software licenses.
  • Manage Namati's US tech inventory and provide on-the-ground hardware and equipment support for the DC office.
  • Support logistics for Namati Board Meetings, including venue selection, catering, procurement, and day-of technical support.
  • Coordinate monthly office lunches, including catering selection, communication, ordering, and setup.
  • Execute two DC-based staff gatherings per year, managing the full event lifecycle.
  • Enter and track expense reports for the Global Operations team.
  • Facilitate Namati credit card purchases and maintain detailed transaction records.
  • Provide operational and administrative support to the Global Operations team, including meeting coordination and note-taking.
