About The Position

Join a fast-growing defense robotics hardware manufacturer building command-and-control technology for complex, real-world missions. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will embed with U.S. military and government users to deploy, integrate, troubleshoot, and improve production C2 software in operational environments. This highly hands-on role blends full-stack engineering, systems integration, field support, and direct customer collaboration: you may write and ship code the same day, diagnose distributed-system issues under pressure, connect and configure hardware, support drone operators, and occasionally operate aerial, maritime, or ground-based assets during live missions. You will travel extensively to domestic and international coastal and water-adjacent locations, translate operator feedback into product improvements, and independently lead technical outcomes in ambiguous, resource-constrained settings. The compensation package includes competitive salary and equity.

Requirements

Five to seven years of full-stack software engineering, forward-deployed engineering, or closely related technical experience
Experience in a senior forward-deployed or customer-facing engineering capacity, including independently managing customer relationships and mentoring less-experienced engineers
Strong proficiency building full-stack applications with Golang and React
Demonstrated ability to design, architect, deploy, and support reliable distributed systems
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or another relevant technical discipline
Ability to gather requirements directly from end users and rapidly turn operational needs into working software solutions
Comfort troubleshooting software, networks, hardware, and system integrations in high-pressure field settings
High ownership, sound judgment, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively with limited direction in changing environments
Willingness and ability to travel more than 50% domestically and internationally
Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance
Authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available

Responsibilities
