About The Position

NYU’s Stern School of Business has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate Director, External Relations, on the Careers team. The selected candidate will manage a portfolio of employer relationships across some of the school’s most critical industries. They will serve as both a strategic advisor and operational partner to companies, overseeing the end-to-end execution of recruiting efforts. The Senior Associate Director will advise employers on recruitment strategies, coordinate events and interviews, and ensure alignment with school processes and timelines. The selected candidate will liaise between employers, students, and internal career coaches to communicate expectations, manage logistics, and surface insights to improve the recruiting experience for all parties. They will develop and implement a targeted outreach strategy to cultivate new employer relationships and uncover job opportunities for Stern MBA students. The Senior Associate Director will leverage alumni networks, track market trends, and initiate employer-focused engagement initiatives such as information sessions, industry events, and pipeline-building conversations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of professional-level experience in human resources, career counseling, recruitment, admissions, corporate relations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in business development, including account management, client relationship management, sales, or related functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain relationships.
  • Experience developing new external partnerships while strengthening and optimizing established ones.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, project management, platform, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt based on business needs and work independently to achieve goals.
