About The Position

The Marketing, Communications, and Outreach team at the Connecticut Green Bank (Green Bank) is seeking a Senior Associate focused on contractor partnerships and engagement. This role requires a marketing and relationship-driven professional who understands contractor operations, sales, and business growth. Sitting at the intersection of channel marketing, field engagement, and contractor partnership development, the key goals will focus on retention, recruitment, and relationship building with contractors participating in Green Bank programs. The Senior Associate will lead marketing and outreach efforts and campaigns to grow and nurture the Green Bank's contractor channel, support program teams in contractor engagement, and build direct relationships with contractors and related trade groups. This role will collaborate across the organization to support contractor utilization of Green Bank products and to further grow and develop the Green Bank Contractor Network, with the opportunity to shape and grow a statewide contractor network impacting Connecticut's green economy. Contractors in solar and battery storage, energy efficiency, HVAC, and other energy/resilience improvements are vital partners in making Green Bank products accessible. The role executes this vision through consistent interaction and engagement with the contractor community, understanding the value of relationship building for positive business outcomes. The Green Bank's vision for outreach and engagement emphasizes building trust and awareness through clear communication, education, and active listening, enabling understanding and meeting community needs. Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal, relationship management, and outreach skills involving the ability to work with other parties, at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, but also work independently, exercise judgment, think critically and creatively, and take initiative.
  • Marketing skills or a desire to learn such skills, especially in respect to channel-based marketing and co-branding.
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively, through oral and written communications.
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to understand various energy-related technologies and financial products.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant work experience performing duties similar to the needs of this role.
  • Must be able to be in the Hartford office at least twice per week.

Nice To Haves

  • General knowledge of renewable energy and energy efficiency programs including Connecticut specific programs.
  • Experience working with contractors, distributors, or trade networks.
  • Experience in home improvement, energy, or construction-related industries.
  • Experience in channel sales, partner marketing, or field marketing.
  • Experience with Salesforce or other customer relationship management software.
  • Sales or cold calling experience.
  • A bachelor's degree may be substituted for three (3) years of general experience. In this situation, the candidate must have 2 years of full-time work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Director of Marketing and Outreach with developing and implementing the Green Bank's contractor outreach strategy.
  • Regularly engaging directly with contractors that currently participate in Green Bank programs through in-person and virtual meetings, roundtables, events, industry groups, or other activities to support retention, facilitate feedback, and build relationships.
  • Recruiting new contractors into existing or expanding Green Bank programs, and fostering strong relationships with them.
  • Coordinating with and supporting Green Bank program teams (Smart-E Loan, Energy Storage Solutions, C-PACE, Solar PPA, and others) with their goals related to contractor engagement and governance, developing resources, conducting general outreach and research or soliciting feedback through roundtables, trainings, events, meetings or other engagements.
  • Working with the Communications team on developing and delivering content, communications, and events for the contractor network (e.g., hosting contractor networking events, developing sales trainings or contractor conferences, etc.).
  • Designing engagement strategies that align with how contractors generate leads and close deals.
  • Supporting the further development, promotion, and execution of the Green Bank's contractor co-branding program in coordination with program teams and Marketing & Outreach.
  • Managing, triaging, and responding to incoming contractor inquiries.
  • Leading efforts to build a more diverse contractor community.
  • Supporting the development and execution of outreach campaigns designed to increase adoption of Green Bank products and programs.
  • Collecting, analyzing, and providing contractor feedback and market research to relevant programs related to product development or redesign.
  • Representing the Green Bank at events, speaking engagements, etc.
  • Other duties as required.
