About The Position

Capital One Brand, Growth, Creative team is looking for an experienced Art Director to bring our brand to life across different audiences, products, channels and types of communication. The right candidate knows the importance that strategy plays in design and is able to develop insight-driven, customer-centric work for our marketing creative team. You’ll be a supporting player across multiple digital marketing channels and varying types of projects, ranging from ad concepts, production design, template design exploration and organizational tasks. You’ll collaborate with designers, writers, marketing strategists and business partners along the way to build and refine your ideas and designs. You’ll be interested in learning new approaches, new tools and having the opportunity to influence processes and strategy in a thoughtful and meaningful way. We’re looking for the right mix of customer-focus, attention to detail, technical skills, high standards, judgement and problem solving.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of agency or in-house experience as an Art Director or Graphic Designer in digital marketing channels
  • Proficient in Figma and Adobe CS including Photoshop and Illustrator
  • A strong portfolio that showcases your work and demonstrates your experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree as an Art Director, Graphic Designer or similar
  • Experience with marketing strategy, interaction design and understanding of UX principles
  • Experience in the financial services industry, or other highly regulated industries
  • Experience with performance marketing, delivering work for large-scale testing—specifically in Meta channels
  • Meta advertising

Responsibilities

  • Be comfortable designing for digital platforms across multiple placements and sizes
  • Understand the importance of strategy and marketing; be interested in understanding the bigger picture
  • Be able to internalize brand design systems in order to execute creative at a high level
  • Learn and adhere to specific process steps within projects and speak up when you see opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with a team to generate ideas and creative concepts, as well as be self-guided and work independently
  • Have a strong sense of teamwork to collaborate with internal marketing partners, other brand team members, and line-of-business clients to help execute marketing strategy
  • Be self-organized and able to manage multiple deadlines on numerous, concurrent projects
  • Present your work well—you will be expected to provide and articulate strategic rationale
  • Have a positive attitude and be open to all kinds of feedback about your work
  • Receive and apply feedback from your managers, team members and stakeholders
  • Be curious and comfortable asking questions when you need clarification
  • Consistently deliver quality work on time
  • Be flexible and open to adjusting your approach or working style
