Boston University Admissions seeks a Senior Assistant Director for Admissions Ambassadors. This role manages the recruitment, selection, training, supervision and retention of eight student coordinators and 150 student ambassadors (tour guides) responsible for introducing almost 75,000 visitors annually to the Admissions Reception Center and Boston University Campus. The Senior Assistant Director also recruits, selects, and trains 24 Summer Student Admissions Representatives (SARs). The Senior Assistant Director assists the Associate Director for On-campus Recruitment at the Admissions Reception Center in establishing standards and managing the training and work of Admissions Ambassadors and summer SARs to ensure all visitors receive an exceptional campus visit experience. During the fall semester this position typically works four weekend days and 5-7 weeknights after 5 pm (usually just an hour each from 5-6 pm). During the spring semester this position typical works 2-3 weekend days and 5-7 weeknights after 5 pm (again, usually just an hour each from 5-6 pm). The Senior Assistant Director works closely with the four other staff members based at the Visitor's Center, with recruitment staff based at our office at 881 Commonwealth Avenue and partners in each of the academic divisions of the University. The Senior Assistant Director’s primary duties include: Leading weekly meetings and working with coordinators to set goals for campus visitation programs and the ambassador program as a whole. Creating training manuals, skill-building workshops, and evaluation tools for all volunteers. Supporting the campus visit experience for prospective students, families, and special groups. This includes greeting visitors, registering them for events and campus tours. Assigning the work of 150 admissions volunteers (Admissions Ambassadors and Admissions Student Diversity Board (ASDB) members) to ensure that tours, information sessions, and other on-campus visit programs run smoothly and on-time. Managing the recruitment, selection, and training of two Student Coordinators and 22 staff members for the Summer Student Admissions Representative program each spring. Ensuring staffing for campus visit programs for prospective students, families, and special groups. including: campus tours. Manages the hiring, scheduling and weekly payroll operations for all members of the Admissions Ambassador program.
