The attorney in this position will serve as the appellate attorney for the Administrative Law Bureau. The attorney shall serve lead counsel in all Bureau appeals arising from the work of the Bureau attorneys. This attorney shall also serve as lead counsel to larger more complex professional regulatory boards and render legal advice to such boards and other state agencies on such matters as the drafting and promulgation of rules, the taking of agency action, and the proper operation of the agency under Chapters 120, 286, and 119, as well as the statutes specifically applicable to each agency. This position requires the interpretation and application of state and federal laws and rules and regulations that affect the duties and functions of the various agencies and requires travel. It requires the attorney to be prepared to provide counsel and guidance to agency clients on issues and other topics that may be only indirectly related to a specific case or statute but that nevertheless can have an impact on the agencies goals.
