About The Position

The Senior Army JROTC Instructor teaches the High School Military Science program (JROTC) to a diverse student population (9th - 12th Grade). This position will be at George Washington High School.

Requirements

Senior Army Instructors (SAI) are required to have a Bachelor's degree. Army Instructors (AI) are required by the Army to have an Associate’s degree.
Be formally commissioned by a branch of the military.
Be formally certified by the Army before you may apply for this position.
Be authorized by the State Department of Education with a Junior ROTC - Endorsement.
Previous formal Military experience required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Responsibilities

Counsels students to encourage and support student achievement.
Monitor, supervise, coordinate and enforce rules of conduct and behavior for assigned students
Reinforce positive student behaviors in accordance with school and District policy. Observes, evaluates, reports and records students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
Prepares lesson plans and materials according to curriculum guidelines.
Prepares, administers, assigns, and grades tests and assignments to evaluate student progress, reporting grades using District software
Prepares student, attendance, and activity reports as required by administrators
Communicates with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems
