About The Position

The LIEUTENANT COLONEL SENIOR ARMY JROTC INSTRUCTOR teaches the High School Military Science program (JROTC) to a diverse student population (9th - 12th Grade). This position will be located at Lincoln High School.

Requirements

  • Senior Army Instructors (SAI) are required to have a Bachelor's degree.
  • Army Instructors (AI) are required by the Army to have an Associate’s degree.
  • Be formally commissioned by a branch of the military.
  • Be formally certified by the Army before you may apply for this position.
  • Be authorized by the State Department of Education with a Junior ROTC - Endorsement.
  • Previous formal Military experience required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures
  • Effectively handles multiple demands and competing deadlines
  • The ability to take responsibility for one’s own performance
  • Works effectively as member of multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to adapt to a changing work environment with a positive attitude and problem-solving approach
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to accurately record, transfer, and relate information is preferred
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.

  • Bilingual in Spanish, or another language, in the areas of speaking, listening and/or reading preferred and may be required for some positions

Responsibilities

  • Counsels students to encourage and support student achievement.
  • Monitor, supervise, coordinate and enforce rules of conduct and behavior for assigned students
  • Reinforce positive student behaviors in accordance with school and District policy.
  • Observes, evaluates, reports and records students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
  • Prepares lesson plans and materials according to curriculum guidelines.
  • Prepares, administers, assigns, and grades tests and assignments to evaluate student progress, reporting grades using District software
  • Prepares student, attendance, and activity reports as required by administrators
  • Communicates with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems
