About The Position

Dewberry is seeking an exceptional candidate to serve as a Senior Architect for their Federal Client. This on-site position will be integral to the services provided to the customer in Quantico, VA. Requirements

  • BS degree in architecture is required.
  • Must have experience with the most current version of AutoCAD software.
  • Must have current knowledge of and relevant experience in workspace design, especially as it relates to the health and welfare of building occupants.
  • Must have the ability to pass client-required training course once on-site.
  • Must have at least 8 years of successful commercial/government office building design and construction experience.
  • Must have knowledge on recent versions of the International Building Code and Commentary (IBC), the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards (UFAS), and all pertinent federal accessibility standards.
  • Must have proficiency in the use of Microsoft’s Word, Excel, Power Point, Project software tools and well as AutoCAD.
  • Must exhibit professionalism, good customer service and communication skills.
  • Must hold a Top-Secret Security Clearance or have a Secret Clearance with the ability to quickly obtain a Top-Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in a similar discipline is preferred.
  • Registered Architect is preferred.
  • PMP certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a consultant in the establishment of design standards and criteria for federal construction projects.
  • Provide on-site field survey measurements and verification including documentation of space, equipment, workflow, required adjacencies, communication and organizational requirements.
  • Prepare stacking plans to accommodate functionality and adjacency requirements.
  • Prepare blocking plans, schematic or conceptual designs, and design intent drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Ensure drawings comply with our federal client’s Program of Requirements (POR), Campus Design Guides and Construction Standards.
  • Perform design reviews and submit comments in required format.
  • Ensure drawings and specifications submitted to the federal client for review comply with POR requirements.
  • Manage the design of projects throughout the project lifecycle, from programming to post occupancy, including building and maintaining relationships with end users, local team, subject matter experts, etc.
  • Perform construction administration duties, such as reviewing and answering RFIs, reviewing submittals, and reviewing and producing field reports.
  • Coordinate with peer colleagues, Project Managers, customers, other personnel/contractors, and other project team members on projects as necessary.
  • Collaborate and assist in resolving critical and possibly controversial issues with a multi-disciplined team of architects, engineers, and federal agency clients.
  • Understand and implement standards as outlined in the POR, Campus Design Guides and Construction Standards.
  • Suggest edits or updates to these documents, as applicable.
  • Develop, prepare, and submit weekly work logs and monthly status reports documenting the execution of work for submission to the Government.
