About The Position

DLR Group is seeking a Senior Architect to support project work in their Workplace sector. This role can be based in Omaha, Nebraska. DLR Group’s Workplace practice offers a comprehensive suite of services including core and shell architecture, tenant improvement, interior design, workplace strategy, engineering, and building performance optimization. The Senior Architect will take on a leadership role in managing key aspects of projects, overseeing the development and delivery of project documentation. They will collaborate closely with integrated design teams to produce high-quality work, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and work plans. The role involves partnering directly with the Project Manager to ensure the financial health of the project, the quality of project documents, claim prevention, team collaboration and communication, and leading cross-functional design disciplines in developing technical solutions. This position is ideal for a collaborative thought leader with a strategic mindset, offering the opportunity for ownership in the 100% employee-owned firm.

Requirements

  • Strong technical knowledge with the ability to coordinate and contribute to design and technical solutions
  • Undergraduate Degree in Architecture required; professional licensure required
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in architecture
  • Proficient in Revit, Bluebeam, and other standard architecture software
  • Ability to lead sustainable design principles in technical plans and deliverables
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong organizational abilities
  • Active participation in professional organizations and involvement in marketing and business development activities

Responsibilities

  • Lead project development, client relationships, and project implementation in coordination with the Project Manager and Project Designer
  • Oversee and ensure quality assurance/control, adherence to practice standards, and protocol compliance
  • Align design intent with project schedules, budgets, and profitability targets
  • Spearhead conceptual design and technical strategies, coordinating all disciplines involved in building design
  • Present design and technical solutions to clients and stakeholders
  • Mentor and lead teams to produce high-quality deliverables and drive innovative design excellence
  • Execute quality assurance and control measures throughout all project phases
  • Maintain clear communication with the Project Manager and design team, ensuring alignment on design intent
  • Manage client expectations and foster strong relationships through effective presentations and engagement
  • Ensure timely project delivery while meeting budget and profitability goals
