Senior Applications Developer
About The Position
The Senior Applications Developer is a senior member of the Digital Experience team who leads advanced technology initiatives and mentors development staff. The role architects, designs, and oversees complex solutions that promote innovation and efficiency, while championing development best practices, process improvements, and high software-quality standards to enhance the member experience and support organizational strategy. The position leads software development initiatives from design through deployment, including architecture of scalable, secure, maintainable systems and integrations. It provides technical guidance, oversees code reviews and quality assurance, supports adoption of technologies and methodologies, and collaborates with business leaders. The role also manages project timelines, deliverables, and resources; identifies and mitigates risks; resolves complex technical issues; ensures compliance with security, regulatory, and organizational standards; and presents technical solutions and project updates to executive management and the Board of Directors. The work is performed in an office environment with moderate to high noise. The position frequently uses office equipment and requires prolonged sitting or standing, extended work in a confined area, and frequent mental and visual concentration. Some work outside normal business hours is required. The position may be hybrid with supervisor approval, subject to the Remote Work / Work from Home Policy. Moderate lifting of up to 20 pounds is required, including transporting objects weighing 5 to 20 pounds for 5 to 10 percent of work time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7+ years in software development/programming, including leadership roles.
- Proven experience with SDLC methodologies, Agile/Scrum frameworks, and project management.
- Advanced proficiency in C#/VB.NET, PowerShell, TypeScript/JavaScript, SQL, and modern runtime environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in systems architecture, API design, and enterprise integrations.
- Excellent facilitation and issue resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
- Strong leadership, influential management, and consensus-building skills.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal/team effectiveness.
- Advanced analytical, strategic planning, and organizational skills.
- Experience with resource management tools and leading cross-functional teams.
- Credibility as a senior-level project leader and technical expert.
