Senior Application Performance Engineer

Vervic Inc.•Washington, DC
•$140,000 - $190,000

About The Position

The Senior Application Performance Engineer diagnoses and optimizes application performance end to end, working across applications, operating systems, middleware, and network layers. The role focuses on high-impact issues affecting users’ quality of experience and includes ownership of optimization efforts from root-cause identification through resolution planning and performance improvement. The position requires self-management of task priorities in a high-tempo environment. The engineer analyzes application architecture, DNS, load balancers, and firewalls to find bottlenecks; performs root-cause analysis for latency, throughput, and availability problems; and collaborates with development, systems, and network teams to implement solutions. The role also includes mentoring less-senior engineers in monitoring, instrumentation, and performance troubleshooting. The position is based in Washington, DC.
