The Marine Applications Controls and Power Management role designs, models, and creates control code for Woodward control systems used in mission-critical power management systems on marine platforms, with an emphasis on functions like generator synchronization, load sharing/shedding, fault isolation, and overall grid stability. The position partners closely with cross-functional internal teams and works directly with customers such as shipbuilders and defense contractors to define requirements and deliver reliable solutions. It also requires hands-on development and optimization of real-time control code (e.g., GAP/nVe), validation of control strategies using electrical plant simulation tools (e.g., Simulink), and integration of distributed energy resources into shipboard power architectures.
