Koniag Government Services, LLC•Washington, DC
•$160,000 - $187,000

About The Position

Tuknik Government Services, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Senior Appian Developer to support a U.S. Army customer on a large-scale contracting systems modernization and automation program. The role designs, builds, tests, and sustains complex Appian capabilities, and leads challenging modernization and defect-correction work while protecting active contracting transactions, data integrity, security, and production availability. This is a contingent recruiting profile for a future new business opportunity; the opening, employing subsidiary, compensation, work location, and staffing depend on final contract authorization. The position may be performed remotely when authorized, at Government facilities, or in controlled office and data-center environments. Work involving classified information or SIPRNet must take place at a Government-approved secure location using authorized systems. The role generally supports Government business hours, with occasional release, incident-response, maintenance-window, or approved travel requirements. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field; additional relevant experience may substitute for education.
  • Seven or more years of application development experience, including at least four years developing production Appian solutions.
  • Advanced experience with Appian interfaces, process models, Record Types, data stores, integrations, security, expression rules, and deployment packages.
  • Experience supporting relational databases, REST/SOAP services, automated testing, source/configuration control, and production troubleshooting.
  • U.S. citizenship and an active security clearance or eligibility required for the assigned work by the start of performance, with ongoing eligibility thereafter.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with Government, technical, and business stakeholders and maintain accurate work records in approved systems.
  • Ability to protect Controlled Unclassified Information and classified information when assigned, and comply with required access, training, and handling procedures.
  • Advanced Appian design and development skills.
  • Knowledge of Record Types, process models, and data integration.
  • Secure troubleshooting and defect-correction skills.
  • Automated testing and controlled-release skills.
  • Technical mentoring and peer-review skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Appian Certified Senior Developer or Lead Developer credential.
  • Experience with Federal acquisition, Army contracting, or CON-IT-derived applications.
  • Experience delivering Appian solutions within DLA PIEE, cArmy, or another DoD-authorized environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Appian applications, interfaces, process models, records, rules, reports, security groups, and reusable components.
  • Refactor legacy Custom Data Type patterns toward Record Types and explicit data mappings while preserving backward compatibility.
  • Modernize long-running process models using controlled versioning so active contracting actions can complete without interruption.
  • Rebuild assigned workflows using validated process models and Government-approved acceptance criteria.
  • Develop integrations through Appian Connected Systems, Integration Objects, web APIs, and approved interface adapters.
  • Investigate Tier 3 defects, identify root causes, implement permanent corrections, and add regression coverage.
  • Perform peer reviews and ensure solutions meet architecture, security, accessibility, performance, configuration, and documentation standards.
  • Create Appian-native unit and application-logic tests and support smoke, regression, end-to-end, API, and performance testing.
  • Prepare deployment packages, release notes, configuration records, rollback steps, and operational support documentation.
  • Mentor mid-level developers and contribute estimates, technical designs, and risk assessments during backlog refinement.
