About The Position

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Senior API Developer to design, build, and operate large-scale, high-throughput backend services for mission-critical workloads. The role focuses on architecting core platforms used by other engineering teams, with an emphasis on scalability, reliability, performance, and clean engineering practices. The position is 100% remote in the U.S., full-time, and direct W2, with an annual salary range of $100,000–$150,000. Candidates may include U.S. citizens, Green Card holders, EAD holders, and candidates transferring an H-1B visa; the company cannot sponsor new H-1B visa petitions for this position.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• At least 6 years of professional backend engineering experience, including significant experience with distributed systems.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Go, Scala, or a similar language.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts, including consensus, replication, and CAP trade-offs.
• Hands-on experience with high-throughput messaging systems such as Kafka.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational and NoSQL data stores.
• Hands-on experience with a major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Nice To Haves

• Experience leading complex technical initiatives across multiple teams.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes-based platforms in production.
• Exposure to service-mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd.
• Familiarity with chaos engineering practices and tools.
• Open-source contributions to relevant distributed systems projects.
