About The Position

Kearney & Company is seeking a DON Senior Analyst to join our team supporting one of the Federal government’s largest agencies! This role involves collaborating with government POCs to perform audit response, audit remediation, internal controls, financial processes, and/or accounting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS), and/or relevant Department of the Treasury and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) policies. The analyst will gain an understanding of the end-to-end business processes of the Department of the Navy (DON) and apply relevant GAAP. Key responsibilities include executing day-to-day research, analysis, and communication under the direction of the Kearney & Company Team Lead, communicating the status of project-related tasks, and demonstrating excellent writing and communication skills for drafting/updating communication artifacts such as Standard Operating Procedures, Desktop Guides, and whitepapers. Strong customer service skills and the ability to work in occasional high-pressure situations with short deadlines are also essential.

Requirements

• BA/BS/BBA degree from an accredited college/university
• Minimum 3 years of progressive, relevant experience
• Experience working with DoD clients
• Experience in DoD data analytics, financial statement auditing, audit remediation, or audit readiness
• Active Interim Secret Clearance or higher (requires U.S. citizenship)
• Ability to travel up to 25%

Nice To Haves

• Ability to work on-site in Alexandria, VA and DC as requested
• Experience working with Working Capital Funds or Department of Navy clients
• CPA or eligibility to sit for CPA certification
• Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM), Certified Information Systems Auditor, or other professional certification

Responsibilities
