The Global Commercial Services (GCS) US Small Business Marketing team is at the forefront of digital innovation and delivers highly engaging experiences to prospective business customers. The team strives to attract and convert new business customers through digital touchpoints in order to drive significant revenue growth for American Express. Through the use of innovative paid media tactics and creative, strategic partnerships with leading digital platforms and agencies, and a best-in-class website, the team delivers more than 50%25 of net-new spend acquired from small business customers. How will you make an impact in this role? The americanexpress.com website is one of the leading revenue driving channels within Small Business Marketing. With the rapid changes to AI and customer search behavior, it is a pivotal time to define how the site strategy must evolve and adapt to this changing space. Reporting into the Manager of SEO and AEO Strategy, the Senior Analyst, SEO/AEO will be a core contributor to the Small Business Card Shop team within the Small Business Prospect Marketing and Demand Generation organization. This role will support the evolution of the site with the ultimate goals of delivering an influential and accessible user experience that meaningfully drives prospect acquisition. We are seeking a savvy digital marketer that embraces analytical and creative thinking to inspire meaningful change and confident decisions that deliver business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-3 years professional work experience.
  • Comfort in navigating undefined, complex, and changing conditions.
  • Proven experience in managing shifting priorities and leading collaborative workstreams.
  • Self-starter who thrives working independently and within a team.
  • Passion for outside-the-box thinking and challenging the status quo.
  • Confident storyteller with audiences of different seniority and expertise.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience within the digital marketing and/or content marketing space preferred.
  • Experience with AI Tracking / AI Marketing tools (i.e. Profound, BlueFish, Conductor, etc.)
  • Experience with Reddit Pro
  • Familiarity with large language models (MCPs, RAG, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support the acclimation of the business to AI-powered Search and LLMs. Specifically, modernize workstreams, processes, and strategy to consider and support AI visibility.
  • Plan, prioritize, and manage Site and SEO initiatives end-to-end. Help define the strategy, and own communications necessary to deliver business outcomes.
  • Monitor and analyze how our brand shows up to prospective businesses using traditional search, AI-powered Chatbots, and other platforms where users search and prompt.
  • Partner closely with cross functional teams including Product, Analytics, and Compliance to drive forward initiatives and partner with external agencies to identify new opportunities.
  • Collaborate across different marketing channels like Paid Search, Social, and Affiliate to maximize the influence, accuracy, and sentiment of the brand.
  • Utilize qualitative and quantitative data to share insights that inform better decision-making about site enhancements and test ideas.
  • Support Site go-to market strategies for key product launches and refreshes.
