About The Position

As a Senior Analyst, Regulatory Compliance, you will provide second-line regulatory compliance advice, oversight, and constructive challenge across the Bank. Your role will be crucial in helping the Bank navigate regulatory obligations, emerging changes, and compliance risks, supporting the purpose of helping every Australian own their own home. This opportunity allows you to influence how regulatory compliance is understood and managed within a customer-owned bank. You will work closely with various teams, offering practical advice and constructive challenge on daily compliance matters, strategic initiatives, and evolving regulatory changes. Your responsibilities will include translating complex regulatory requirements into clear business implications and supporting a robust compliance framework. You will gain exposure to breach management, assurance, governance, and regulatory change, developing a comprehensive understanding of the Bank's compliance environment and influencing improvements.

Requirements

  • At least three years’ experience in regulatory compliance or legal regulatory roles, preferably within financial services
  • Demonstrated experience providing regulatory compliance advice and constructive challenge to business stakeholders
  • Strong experience interpreting legislation, regulation and regulatory guidance and translating requirements into practical advice
  • Understanding of breach and incident management, including regulatory assessment and reporting requirements
  • Experience monitoring and assessing emerging regulatory change within financial services
  • Knowledge of contemporary compliance and operational risk frameworks
  • Strong understanding of relevant financial services regulation, which may include APRA Prudential Standards, the Corporations Act, Privacy Act, AML/CTF Act and Customer-Owned Banking Code of Practice
  • Knowledge of ASIC breach and remediation requirements
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to identify trends, patterns and emerging compliance risks
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills, with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, stakeholders and deadlines
  • A degree in Finance, Business, Law or a related discipline

Responsibilities

  • Providing pragmatic regulatory compliance advice and constructive challenge across business-as-usual activities, strategic initiatives and emerging issues
  • Supporting the coordination of the Bank’s Breach Management Program, including assessment, governance and regulatory reporting
  • Identifying and assessing emerging regulatory changes and helping the business understand their potential impact
  • Supporting compliance assurance reviews across the Enterprise Compliance Program and thematic compliance matters
  • Acting as a trusted compliance adviser to business stakeholders, interpreting regulatory guidance and supporting effective decision-making
  • Reviewing policies, standards and supporting frameworks to ensure they remain aligned with regulatory requirements
  • Preparing clear compliance insights, governance papers and reporting for senior management, Risk Governance Committees and the Board
  • Building strong relationships across the Bank and representing Compliance with relevant external stakeholders and industry forums
