About The Position

The Compliance and Regulatory Specialist will support company-wide compliance programs across HR, food safety, safety, regulatory, and ethical standards within multiple production facilities. This role ensures AFI operates in alignment with federal, state, and local regulations while strengthening internal policies and procedures to support audit readiness, ethical practices, and employee protections. The position will partner closely with Compliance leadership, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations to drive accountability, transparency, and risk mitigation across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field required
  • Minimum 3 years of compliance, regulatory, or food safety experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with international shipments and customs regulations required
  • Strong understanding of FDA regulations, SQF standards, and FSVP requirements
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and compliance management systems
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
  • Use of hands and fingers for handling and documentation
  • Reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed
  • Ability to communicate effectively (talk and hear)
  • Vision requirements include distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception

Nice To Haves

  • PCQI, FSVP, or other compliance certifications preferred
  • Prior experience supporting investigations or compliance initiatives preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in compliance initiatives across multiple AFI locations, ensuring consistent application of policies and standards
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to managers and employees on compliance-related requirements
  • Support compliance-related investigations and internal inquiries
  • Ensure adherence to FDA, FSVP, and food safety regulations
  • Monitor compliance metrics and escalate risks or violations to leadership
  • Support compliance with international regulations, including customs and export requirements
  • Partner with International Sales to prepare and manage export documentation
  • Collaborate with Commercialization to review and approve product labeling
  • Manage submissions for Kosher, Halal, and Real Seal certifications
  • Support Organic certification processes
  • Partner with Quality, Safety, Legal, Supply Chain, and Operations to implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Promote a culture of ethics, integrity, and accountability across all levels of the organization
