About The Position

Eversource's Transmission Project Management Organization is seeking a Senior Project Cost Analyst. This role is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and reporting on budgets, contracts, and other financial issues for Eversource Transmission projects. The analyst will provide and implement information and recommendations to achieve project goals and influence project direction. Key activities include cost forecasting, monitoring, and control, preparing cost performance and productivity reports, analyzing supporting data, variance reporting, and conducting special studies. The role involves working with project estimates and cash flows/budgets to track and communicate project and contractor status and completion costs, evaluating the cost impact of scope changes, and recommending corrective actions. The Senior Project Cost Analyst will also compare project costs with other utilities for benchmarking and provide input for project scheduling. This position supports a hybrid work schedule, requiring at least three days in the office per week, with flexibility based on operational needs and managerial discretion. Applicants requiring visa sponsorship will not be considered.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Five (5) plus years of experience in cost analysis required.
  • Competency in Eversource's accounting methods and budgeting process and systems including UVLs and Microsoft software, especially Excel, is desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluation of estimates, budgets, cash flows, plans and schedules to effectively control cost.
  • Sound knowledge of cost and schedule specification requirements, contracts administration techniques, types of contracts and contract applicability.
  • Ability to efficiently interface with, communicate and coordinate activities with Eversource management, project management and support personnel.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports using written, oral or graphical means.
  • Familiarity with the "Project Management Institute's Body of Knowledge" is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors, maintains, and reports on budgets, contracts, and other financial issues for Eversource Transmission projects.
  • Obtains, provides, and implements information and recommendations to meet project goals.
  • Performs cost forecasting, monitoring, and control activities.
  • Prepares cost performance and productivity reports, analyzes supporting data, and performs variance reporting and special studies.
  • Works with project estimates and cash flow/budgets to monitor and communicate status and completion costs for projects and individual contractors.
  • Evaluates and reports the cost impact of scope changes and/or productivity changes and recommends corrective actions.
  • Understands and applies project management theories and methodologies.
  • Compares and evaluates the cost of similar projects with other utilities for benchmarking.
  • Provides actual man-hour, quantity, and productivity input to Planning and Scheduling.
  • Establishes and maintains a Project Cost Commitment Program.
  • Assists in the review of bid specifications, change orders, invoices, and performance for vendors, contractors, and material contracts.
  • Coordinates the preparation of project work orders or purchase orders.
  • Provides cost engineering liaison and interface for projects with financial and tax departments, Plant and General Accounting, and Eversource Purchasing and Stores.
