About The Position

As the Senior Analyst, Paper & Procurement, you will be responsible for category management of all Paper & Packaging supplies, leading execution and contributing to key strategic decisions. This person will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and negotiating with new suppliers to meet Chipotle’s growth needs, as well as managing the performance of existing suppliers and finding opportunities to grow and optimize our overall network. You will also work closely with cross-functional partners on menu innovation and other company-wide initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Business, Finance, or Economics from a 4-year college or university preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of a category, project, or workstream and drive strategic recommendations with limited oversight.
  • Experience in project management, cross-functional coordination, and stakeholder alignment across procurement, brand, marketing, FSQA, and operations.
  • Strong ability to influence and align cross-functional partners, navigate ambiguity, and drive decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and supporting or leading commercial negotiations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and/or Power BI, including ability to build models, analyze large datasets, and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Understanding of regulatory and sustainability considerations impacting packaging decisions.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations and experience supporting compliance, reporting, or implementation efforts is preferred.
  • Familiarity with packaging materials, specifications, or manufacturing processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the planning team to identify focus areas and lead execution on growing the capacity of our supplier network, with a balanced focus on expanding both international pipelines and domestic packaging capabilities to strengthen supply resilience, agility, and cost competitiveness.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to improve margin, reduce risk, and optimize supplier performance without compromising quality or sustainability standards.
  • Support Food with Integrity projects that drive leadership in sustainability and climate change.
  • Continue to develop the understanding of packaging materials and production practices to meet sustainability targets, including knowledge of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations and ensuring compliance through execution of reporting, supplier alignment, and material requirements.
  • Partner with Brand and Marketing teams to align packaging design, innovation, and messaging with brand standards and campaign objectives, ensuring packaging supports overall customer experience and brand storytelling.
  • Analyze commodity markets and build relationships with our network of market experts.
  • Make price, contract, and supplier allocation recommendations based on your view of the market, regularly communicating analysis through category reviews, price forecasts, and other reporting.
  • Build excellent relationships with vendors, ensure they abide by policies and provide excellent service, and work closely with the logistics team to identify and resolve supplier issues.
  • Collaborate with FSQA, Brand, and Marketing to develop, review, and rewrite packaging specifications, ensuring alignment with food safety standards, brand requirements, regulatory compliance, and operational feasibility.
