About The Position

Well established paper packaging manufacturer in the Waukegan/North Chicago area is seeking Packers to pack printed paper bags and sheets from the machines into cardboard cartons according to job specifications. This is a temp-to-hire position with first and second shift hours available: 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm, Monday through Friday. Paid lunch is provided.

Requirements

• Basic math adding and subtracting required.
• Basic reading and writing skills required.
• Some lifting required up to 25 pounds on occasion.
• Fast paced environment must be able to keep up with machines.
• Must be able to stand for entire shift.
• Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
• Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

Nice To Haves

• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read the job pockets for cartons and labeling.
• Pack bags into cartons per the job instructions.
• Inspect the bags while packing for defects.
• Keep up with the machine speeds.
• Keep accurate counts of bags per carton.
• Seal full cartons using tape gun and place on skid.
• Keep the work area clean.
