About The Position

The Senior Analyst, Pricing & Promotions is responsible for providing advanced pricing and promotional analytics to support informed decision-making across Rexall’s Front Store business, driving optimized pricing strategies, promotional effectiveness, margin performance, and competitive positioning. Requirements

  • 5–7+ years of progressive experience in pricing, promotions, or commercial analytics.
  • Retail experience required; drug, grocery, or mass retail experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing senior stakeholders through data-driven insights.
  • Advanced Excel skills including financial modeling, scenario analysis, and large data sets.
  • Strong experience with data warehouses, SQL, BI tools, and analytical methodologies.
  • Ability to design and interpret KPIs, dashboards, and analytical frameworks.
  • Strong financial and retail acumen with an understanding of pricing and margin dynamics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-directed, accountable, and collaborative with the ability to work independently.
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Excellent understanding of the JDA Category Management Suite with the ability to facilitate change and to be creative.
  • Ability to prioritize and work on many projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines in order to achieve desired results.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze regular retail pricing, competitive price gaps, and price indices to support pricing strategy decisions and maintain market competitiveness.
  • Evaluate pricing actions using elasticity analysis, scenario modeling, and test-and-learn approaches to improve margin and profitability.
  • Conduct pre- and post-promotional analysis to assess sales lift, margin impact, cannibalization, and halo effects.
  • Assess promotional mechanics including depth, timing, duration, and funding mix to improve promotional ROI.
  • Develop and maintain standardized dashboards, scorecards, and reporting to provide ongoing visibility to pricing and promotional performance.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Partner with Category Management, Pricing, Finance, Loyalty, Marketing, Supply Chain, and IT teams to support enterprise initiatives.
  • Support enhancements to pricing and promotional tools, including UAT, system changes, and process improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to automate recurring analytics and improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of insights.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert for pricing and promotional analytics, proactively identifying risks, trends, and opportunities.
