Senior Analyst, Fraud and AML

Rocket Money•San Francisco, MI

About The Position

Rocket Money is seeking a hands-on Senior Analyst to manage day-to-day fraud and anti-money laundering (AML) risk across its financial products. The role centers on triaging alerts and cases, investigating complex activity, documenting defensible decisions, and improving rules and processes based on observed patterns. Fraud triage experience is central, and the analyst will work across fraud and AML risks that may appear in the same accounts and money movements. The analyst will own the health and timeliness of alert and case queues, perform investigations, prepare Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) referrals, and coordinate with banking and brokerage partners. The role also supports Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and AML compliance, incident response, control measurement, testing, and audit readiness. The position reports to the Senior Manager, Fraud and AML, and works with product, engineering, operations, data, and external partners. Success in the role includes keeping queues within service-level targets, making consistent and well-documented decisions, improving alert quality and reducing manual effort through tuning and remediation, and maintaining audit-ready case files. The salary range is $100,000–$125,000 per year, plus bonus and benefits; base pay may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

  • Collaborative and curious mindset, with energy for working in a fast-moving environment where the program is evolving.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry certifications such as CAFS, CAMS, CFCS, or CFE.

  • Own day-to-day alert and case queue health, including timeliness, quality, and clear, well-documented dispositions.
  • Work fraud and AML alerts and cases involving account takeover, first-party and ACH abuse, money mule activity, and business use of consumer accounts.
  • Track turnaround targets and conduct quality checks on case decisions to ensure they are consistent, timely, and defensible.
  • Investigate complex, multi-account cases from initial signal through a documented decision.
  • Prepare SAR referrals and supporting case documentation in time to meet bank partner deadlines.
  • Escalate and coordinate cases with bank and brokerage partners, and act as backup to the Senior Manager on partner escalations.
  • Support incident response by tracing root causes and documenting what changed and why.
  • Review rule and control performance, including alert precision, time to decision, false positives, and loss outcomes.
  • Develop tuning proposals from case patterns and follow remediation through completion.
  • Identify emerging fraud and AML patterns and provide disposition and data-quality feedback for rules, routing, and vendor tools.
  • Support day-to-day BSA and AML compliance, including case documentation, training, and testing evidence.
  • Help prepare for independent testing and bank partner audits by maintaining complete, consistent, and retrievable records.
  • Contribute clear, concise, practical procedures and incident write-ups.
