Trans-Canada Capital (TCC) is currently seeking a Senior Analyst, Data management. Reporting to the Manager, Data management, the Senior Analyst, Data management will play a key role in the management and governance of market data, which are essential to the proper functioning of investment strategies and risk management. This role combines financial expertise, analytical rigor, and technological acumen. The selected individual will choose TCC for its collaborative work environment, innovative approach to asset management, the diversity and sophistication of its investment strategies, growth potential, close working relationships across investment teams, and competitive total compensation. This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of four days per week onsite at our downtown Montreal office.

Requirements

University degree in administration or any other related field.
Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience, with significant exposure to market data
In-depth knowledge of derivatives and financial markets (CFA designation or progression in the program is a strong asset).
Familiarity with Master Data Management (MDM) concepts and data governance practices.
Significant experience in database management and modeling (SQL, data warehouses).
Proficiency with Power BI and a strong interest in data visualization and analytics.
Strong analytical skills and ability to transform complex data into actionable insights.
Rigor, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse internal stakeholders
Strong leadership skills to influence and implement best practices in data governance.
Keen interest in innovation and emerging data management technologies.
Candidates must be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time any offer of employment is made and are responsible for obtaining any required work permits, visas, or other authorizations necessary for employment. Prior to their start date, candidates will also need to provide proof of their eligibility to work in the country of interest.

Responsibilities

Manage data pipeline: oversee the acquisition, validation, normalization, and distribution of data.
Participate in managing relationships with market data providers, ensuring data quality, compliance, and service continuity.
Negotiate and monitor market data contracts, including cost management and license compliance.
Ensure the reliability, consistency, and availability of market data across business lines.
Collaborate closely with investment teams and business lines to meet their data needs.
Design and maintain robust data models tailored to business requirements.
Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using Power BI to support decision-making.
Optimize processes for accessing and leveraging market data within the organization.
Act as a leader in establishing and advancing data governance (documentation of data sources, standards, quality, classification, and policies).
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth and secure integration of data into internal systems.
Actively contribute to fostering a culture focused on data quality and strategic data use.
