About The Position

The Senior Analyst, Data Excellence supports Surgery’s data excellence agenda by ensuring business data is accurate, trusted, standardized, and fit‑for‑purpose across supply chain and operational processes. This role works closely with business, digital, and analytics teams to support data governance, data quality, and data readiness activities that enable reliable reporting, analytics, and decision‑making. The position plays a key role in supporting enterprise initiatives and transformation programs (e.g., ERP, analytics, and planning platforms) by executing data validation, issue resolution, documentation, and process standardization activities. The Senior Analyst acts as a bridge between business process owners, data governance, and technical teams to ensure data outcomes align with business requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7 + years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 4–7 years of experience in data analysis, data management, business analytics, or data enablement within a complex enterprise environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data issues and translate them into actionable insights.
  • Experience working across cross‑functional, matrixed teams.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience supporting ERP, planning, or analytics platforms (e.g., SAP or similar ecosystems).
  • Exposure to regulated or quality‑driven environments.
  • Experience supporting data activities within large transformation programs.

Responsibilities

  • Execute data quality reviews, validations, and reconciliations to ensure data accuracy and completeness across defined data domains.
  • Support execution of data governance standards, definitions, and business rules in alignment with global policies and operating models.
  • Track, analyze, and support resolution of data issues, ensuring transparency and timely closure.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into clear data requirements and validation criteria.
  • Support preparation of trusted data sets for reporting, analytics, and operational decision‑making.
  • Maintain documentation of data definitions, assumptions, and data flows to enable long‑term sustainment and reuse.
  • Support data activities for enterprise transformation initiatives, including design, testing, migration, cutover, and stabilization phases.
  • Perform data readiness checks, scenario validations, and defect analysis to ensure smooth program execution.
  • Coordinate with IT, analytics teams, and system integrators to ensure alignment between business data requirements and technical solutions.
  • Identify recurring data issues, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support continuous improvement of data management processes, tools, and ways of working.
  • Promote adherence to JNJ data standards and best practices across teams.
