About The Position

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center, founded in 1893, is Des Moines’s longest continually operating hospital and Iowa’s largest medical center, with 802 beds. MercyOne Central Iowa has more than 7,000 colleagues and a medical staff of nearly 1,500 physicians and allied health professionals. The Senior Analyst captures, analyzes, and validates data to support clinical, operational, and financial performance improvement using qualitative and quantitative techniques. The role develops dashboards, reports, visualizations, and automated analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, SQL, and Python to support leadership decision-making and performance improvement initiatives. It supports enterprise data and reporting systems through data extraction, transformation, modeling, validation, and query development while ensuring adherence to established data standards. The analyst works with large and complex datasets from healthcare and enterprise systems, including Epic EHR and Epic Clarity, to produce actionable insights and scalable reporting solutions. The role partners with operational, financial, and clinical leaders to translate business requirements into reporting, analytics, and actionable insights.

Requirements

Experience with Epic.
Knowledge of healthcare finance, decision support, revenue cycle, or other healthcare operational and financial data.
Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis techniques.
Strong analytical, organizational, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
Experience working with large, complex datasets and communicating insights to business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Capture, analyze, and validate data to support clinical, operational, and financial performance improvement using qualitative and quantitative techniques.
Develop dashboards, reports, visualizations, and automated analytics solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, SQL, and Python.
Support leadership decision-making and performance improvement initiatives through analytics solutions.
Support enterprise data and reporting systems through data extraction, transformation, modeling, validation, and query development.
Ensure adherence to established data standards.
Work with large and complex datasets from healthcare and enterprise systems, including Epic EHR and Epic Clarity, to deliver actionable insights and scalable reporting solutions.
Partner with operational, financial, and clinical leaders to translate business requirements into reporting, analytics, and actionable insights.
