About The Position

Lightspeed Commerce is seeking a full-time Senior Analyst to join their Corporate Development (M&A) team. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Corporate Development and is a key player in driving Lightspeed's strategic vision by shaping and executing high-impact corporate initiatives. The analyst will collaborate with senior executives across all functions and take ownership of meaningful projects, with exposure to the entire deal lifecycle from pre-acquisition to closing and beyond. This position is ideal for a motivated, results-driven professional who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments.

Requirements

  • University degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or similar
  • Self-starter with a sense of ownership and ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Relevant M&A experience in investment banking, corporate development, transaction services/advisory, private equity, etc.
  • Effective teamwork and excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling and valuation
  • Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality
  • Fluency in English. As a global company with employees and clients outside of Quebec, fluency in English as a working language is required for this position

Nice To Haves

  • Professional designation (CPA/CBV/CFA) completion or in pursuit
  • Experience working with diverse teams across cultures globally
  • Experience in a high growth, technology company
  • Experience with SaaS businesses and have relevant industry experience (retail / hospitality / e-commerce / payments)
  • Fluency in French

Responsibilities

  • Prepare business case summaries and recommendations for potential transactions (filtering inbound leads and sourcing outbound leads) to business unit leaders, senior executives, and other stakeholders.
  • Gather data and perform financial analysis and modeling, to evaluate acquisition viability and valuation.
  • Understand our business and surface innovative ideas and opportunities for Lightspeed to consider pursuing.
  • Support deal documentation, due diligence, transaction closing and post-merger integration through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead and support special projects.
