About The Position

Reporting to the Manager, Control Systems Engineering, the Senior Analyst, Control Systems Engineering is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of process control, network, and ancillary system solutions across terminal operations. This role supports the reliability, maintenance, enhancement, and performance of control systems infrastructure while ensuring compliance with safety, operational, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four (4) years progressively responsible experience in an industrial environment with three (3) years’ experience in HMI, PLC systems design and/or software development.
  • Certified Applied Science Technologist in a related discipline or Journeyed certificate in Electrical or Instrumentation.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience that result in the required level of knowledge skill and competence will be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience in both low and high-end automation development methods is required.
  • Team player focused on continuous improvement in all aspects of the job and the business unit.
  • Strong analytical thinking and achievement oriented.
  • Other related qualifications include demonstrated ability to work independently, ability to plan and organize, strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop and maintain good working relationships, and the ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Valid Class 5 vehicle operator’s license.
  • Travel is required to support two port terminals

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, test, and commission production repairs and major projects related to facility control systems.
  • Ensures all company standards relating to automation development and support are followed.
  • Monitor and maintain real-time, historical and support databases to company standards.
  • Implement network infrastructure support at multiple terminals. Monitor performance to meet or exceed planned results and sustain continuous improvement to maximize operational performance.
  • Analyze new developments in control system hardware/software/instrumentation and provides recommendations to enhance the efficiency of facility operations.
  • Collaborate with a support team to provide troubleshooting guidance to Operations, Maintenance and Automation personnel.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on automation software and hardware in all Operations facilities.
  • Liaises with Operations, maintenance staff, and contractors in the installation, commissioning and quality control of automation systems.
  • Plans daily, weekly and monthly tasks to meet project schedules and estimated budgets.
  • Support proactive health, safety, environmental and security programs and communicate safety procedures to Operations staff, contractors and other site personnel.
  • Provide services to support site-specific applications, including CMMS, Daily Handling, and other in-house systems, as required for the orderly operations of the Terminal.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements, including supporting internal and external layers of information processing to and from the process control system(s).
  • Provide after hour on-call technical support and work nights/weekends as required to support terminal operating systems.
  • Performs other duties as required.
