About The Position

The Senior Analyst, Commercial Data Strategies is responsible for supporting the design and implementation of data systems and analysis that provide the strategic framework to support the Commercial organization. This role enables sales execution and business reporting, as well as sales force effectiveness and productivity, while ensuring clear line of sight per system application and overall strategic alignment. The position will report to a Manager in Commercial Data Strategies and will partner with other Managers/Supervisors in Commercial Data Strategies for base business hand-offs. The analyst will work closely with existing data management teams to ensure strategic alignment, focusing on data integrity, establishment of aligned standards, and identifying data gaps. For identified gaps, the analyst will align on a harmonized approach to address them across multiple Business Units (BUs) to ensure a common approach. This position is accountable for supporting the accurate and timely delivery of data by establishing and following efficient data governance processes, identifying issues, and working with business partners on resolutions. The role involves communicating outcomes and methodically supervising investigations to uncover broader trends, and collaborating with the U.S. Commercial and other regions to understand, address, and present solutions to issues. The analyst will focus on specific issues/data challenges unique to each BU while conducting testing in Commercial Data Strategies programs, ensuring appropriate steps are taken to drive efficiency while maintaining data integrity. The analyst will independently resolve and develop approaches and solutions, and share technical expertise with others, including the development of junior-level data analysts. Building and maintaining strong working relationships and partnerships with IT and Global Insight Business partners is key, developing their business knowledge and understanding of Commercial Organization Processes and capabilities specific to market and competitive datasets. The analyst will partner with analytical teams and provide analysis with support to define and build out new analytical capabilities for our medical device businesses, focusing on market data. Responsibilities include ensuring the portfolio of Foundational Data technologies and business processes leverage new data availability as required, and working with analytical teams and internal customers to train on appropriate usage of data to ensure business value is gained. The role also involves communicating business-related issues or opportunities to the next management level. For those who supervise or manage staff, ensuring subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety, and Environmental practices and that all necessary resources are available and in good condition is required. The role also requires performing other duties as assigned. This role will directly contribute to scaling the DePuy Synthes Commercial Data ecosystem into a Global 'best in class' medallion architecture to support commercial enterprise applications and AI environments, strengthening surgeon relationships and KOL engagement across all orthopaedic business units by leveraging data as an asset for better decision-making, enabling data-driven community insights that inform broader commercial and clinical strategies, and supporting the establishment of DePuy Synthes' digital brand presence and surgeon engagement model as a standalone company.

Requirements

  • BS, BA degree (Business/IT related or a focused degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, IT or Business related field is preferred).
  • MBA or MS.
  • Minimum 3-5 years work experience, preferably in a related field.
  • Strong Data Management experience is required.
  • Experience with Data Access methodologies for Sales Analytics; Contracting Systems; Compensation Systems, CRM Environments.
  • Consistent track record of leading or mentoring teams to achieve significant quality and process improvements.
  • Experience with Database structures (i.e. Oracle, SQLSERVER, etc.) and Interface technologies (i.e. Informatica, WebMethods, etc.) is strongly required.
  • Experience in query and report writing tools (i.e. Microsoft Access, Cognos Impromptu, SQL, Focus) and data access methods is required.
  • Advanced EXCEL, PowerPoint and data management skills are required.
  • Knowledge of analytical tools (i.e. QLIKSENSE, TABLEAU, SPOTFIRE, COGNOS, Minitab, SPSS or SAS) is required.
  • Attention to detail and extensive experience in aggregating data and formulating dashboards is required.
  • Experience managing projects is required.
  • Strong analytical experience, business insight and technical skills are required.
  • Strong Project/Account management and Testing Strategy skills with an ability to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives in a dynamic environment with tight timelines are required.
  • Proven success in working with Outsource partners and leading projects on-time and on budget is required.

Nice To Haves
