About The Position

The Senior Airframe Vendor Maintenance Partner is the technical liaison between Alaska Airlines (AS) and vendors contracted to perform maintenance on AS fleet, as well as between AS and manufacturers, leasing companies, and other airlines. This individual contributor position administers contracts between Alaska Airlines and external vendors for heavy scheduled maintenance and modifications as well as drop-in repairs performed on aircraft, engines, or components.

Requirements

  • 4 years of heavy maintenance part: 121/145 experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
  • Valid Airframe and Powerplant Aviation Maintenance Certificate.
  • Boeing 737, Airbus 320 or larger aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) to enhance both customer and employee satisfaction.
  • Detailed oriented and highly organized, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Administers contracts between AS and vendors for repair work performed on aircraft, engines, or components.
  • Performs Exhibit II review against budget and work scope for all scheduled heavy maintenance visits.
  • Performs liaison duties on-site between AS and assigned MRO for technical matters, delivery schedules, invoice discrepancies, warranty claims, and disposition of AS-owned materials.
  • Maintains and applies high level of technical knowledge on assigned aircraft to be able to guide and monitor work-in-progress ensuring all vendor workmanship is acceptable quality and that all work is accomplished in accordance with the work scope and in compliance with applicable specifications.
  • Maintains detailed and accurate records of discrepancies to support requests for procedural changes and claims for charge adjustments.
  • Maintains a thorough working knowledge of the general terms agreement and Contract Exhibits with assigned MRO and audits invoices as required to ensure billing is correct and in accordance with applicable terms and conditions.
  • Reviews and recommends changes to maintenance programs and work specifications, based on experience with conditions found in Aircraft undergoing major maintenance.
  • Partners with AS and vendor engineering departments to ensure required technical information is provided on time and provides feedback regarding conditions found during work accomplished.
  • Apprises the Manager of Vendor Maintenance of any issues that may impact safety, quality, cost, or schedule of AS aircraft while in vendor maintenance.
  • Makes recommendations to changes in the work scope as outlined by the maintenance contract due to changing conditions discovered during maintenance, inspection or modifications of AS Aircraft, and communicates proposed changes to relevant teams.
  • Performs root-cause analysis of significant aircraft discrepant conditions, either present on arrival or resulting from work performed during maintenance on Aircraft.
  • Maintains an informed status of new developments in repair procedures and preventative actions to preclude maintenance problems.
