About The Position

The Senior AI Deployment Manager, Finance brings finance-domain experience to client work applying AI to accounting and finance workflows. The role leads client discovery and delivery workstreams, translates unclear process needs into practical implementation plans, and partners with Forward Deployed Engineers to advance the work. Priority areas include order-to-cash, month-end accounting close, and procure-to-pay. Strong finance process judgment is more important than AI specialization; the manager should learn tools quickly, explain their limitations, and involve engineering when technical decisions require it. The company works AI-first and expects employees to use AI tools thoughtfully. Client priorities can shift quickly, and the work may be ambiguous; the manager owns a workstream, communicates risks and tradeoffs early, and is not provided a fixed script. The role also supports finance-focused pursuits, scopes delivery work, coaches colleagues when assigned, and develops reusable methods for finance AI delivery. It offers direct client ownership from discovery through implementation planning and outcome review, collaboration with engineers and finance leaders, and exposure to varied industries, processes, systems, and client environments.

Requirements

  • Strong finance-domain experience in finance transformation, program finance, corporate finance, or a related field.
  • Practical knowledge of at least one of order-to-cash, month-end close, or procure-to-pay.
  • Evidence of implementing AI-supported workflows in real work; casual AI tool use alone is insufficient.
  • Ability to lead client-facing discovery and delivery, structure ambiguous problems, and own work through measurable review.
  • Ability to translate finance process requirements into clear implementation considerations and partner effectively with engineers.
  • Working understanding of AI capabilities and limitations, including sound judgment about human review and operational risk.
  • Strong writing, presentation, stakeholder management, and prioritization skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Finance transformation consulting or professional-services delivery experience.
  • FP&A, program finance, or analytical experience.
  • Controller, CPA, or accounting-operations background.
  • ERP implementation, finance automation, or finance-focused AI product experience.
  • Experience in a PE-backed company.

Responsibilities

  • Lead client discovery and process mapping for finance workflows, including order-to-cash, month-end close, and procure-to-pay; document outcomes, users, processes, systems, data, controls, exceptions, and pain points.
  • Assess which process steps are suitable for AI, conventional automation, or continued human judgment.
  • Translate finance needs into product requirements, prioritized MVP scope, acceptance criteria, and a work plan for a Forward Deployed Engineer.
  • Make dependencies, access requirements, data quality, risks, and assumptions explicit, and recommend a sequence that balances value, feasibility, timing, and quality.
  • Manage workstream scope, milestones, client decisions, risks, handoffs, and status through testing and client review.
  • Partner with a Forward Deployed Engineer to align business requirements and technical decisions without assuming engineering ownership.
  • Evaluate workflow performance against agreed test cases and success criteria, surface failure modes, and propose next steps.
  • Facilitate working sessions with finance subject-matter experts and communicate progress and tradeoffs clearly.
  • Present concise updates that distinguish verified results from estimates or hypotheses.
  • Help client teams understand workflows, limitations, review requirements, and operational handoffs.
  • Support finance-focused pursuits and scope discussions with process and implementation judgment.
  • Coach Associates or teammates on client delivery and finance-workstream execution when assigned.
  • Create reusable discovery questions, process maps, requirements patterns, and delivery lessons.

Benefits

  • Travel opportunities for on-site client engagements, if desired.
