The Strategic Planning, Prioritization, and Corporate Performance Branch is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Advisor, Strategic Planning to provide strategic leadership in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of AGCO's strategic planning, corporate performance, and integrated business planning frameworks. This role plays a critical part in advancing the organization's strategic priorities by leading strategic planning, strategic foresight, organizational performance measurement, corporate reporting, enterprise prioritization, and strategic initiatives.
Working closely with executive leadership, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders across the organization, the successful candidate will provide strategic advice, performance insights, risk-based analysis, and evidence-informed recommendations that support executive decision-making, organizational resilience, accountability, and the achievement of AGCO's long-term strategic objectives.

They will be adept at navigating complex challenges, fostering alignment across diverse stakeholder groups, and delivering evidence-based solutions that advance AGCO's strategic vision, organizational performance, and long-term objectives.

Requirements

• A degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Economics, Business Administration, Strategic Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• 5–8+ years of progressive experience in strategic planning, strategic foresight, business planning, organizational performance, policy analysis, program evaluation, corporate performance, or related functions, including experience supporting integrated strategic and corporate planning frameworks.
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing strategic plans, business plans, performance measurement frameworks, KPIs, benchmarks, and reporting processes that support organizational accountability, performance management, and evidence-based decision-making.
• Extensive experience applying strategic foresight methodologies, including environmental scanning, horizon scanning, trend analysis, scenario planning, and strategic intelligence gathering to identify emerging opportunities, risks, and potential impacts on organizational priorities.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative research, analytical, and evaluation skills, including data collection, analysis, interpretation, benchmarking, and the synthesis of complex information into actionable insights and recommendations.
• Extensive knowledge and experience designing, implementing, and evaluating performance measurement frameworks, outcome measures, KPIs, benchmarks, reporting systems, and continuous improvement methodologies that align with strategic priorities, assess organizational effectiveness, and support executive decision-making, accountability, and organizational performance.
• Demonstrated ability to assess organizational performance, identify trends, emerging risks, and opportunities, and develop recommendations and mitigation strategies that support organizational resilience and the achievement of strategic objectives.
• Comprehensive understanding of the provincial, federal, and broader public policy environment, including relevant legislation, regulations, government directives, accountability frameworks, and emerging issues affecting public sector organizations.
• Strong political acuity, sound judgment, and the ability to analyze, communicate, and provide advice on complex, sensitive, and high-profile issues.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement, facilitation, relationship management, and consensus-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leaders and diverse internal and external partners.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with experience preparing strategic plans, business plans, executive briefings, reports, presentations, and decision-support materials for executives, boards, and governance bodies.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, SharePoint, and other planning, reporting, and performance management tools.
• Eligibility to work in Canada and the ability to successfully complete a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Lead corporate and divisional strategic planning by developing and implementing planning frameworks, methodologies, governance processes, and planning cycles, and facilitating engagement with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to establish strategic priorities, objectives, initiatives, and implementation roadmaps.
• Monitor progress toward strategic objectives, assess emerging risks and opportunities, provide strategic advice to support executive decision-making and organizational alignment, and recommend adjustments and risk mitigation strategies to ensure achievement of strategic outcomes amid evolving priorities and organizational performance.
• Lead strategic foresight activities by conducting environmental and horizon scanning, trend analysis, strategic intelligence gathering, and the application of foresight methodologies to identify emerging trends, opportunities, risks, and potential disruptions that may impact the organization.
• Assess implications for strategic objectives, develop strategic options, recommendations, and risk mitigation approaches that strengthen organizational resilience and long-term sustainability, and integrate foresight insights into strategic planning, risk management, and executive decision-making processes.
• Lead and support integrated organizational planning by guiding divisions in the development of business plans that translate strategic priorities and objectives into operational plans and measurable deliverables, while ensuring alignment with the corporate strategic plan, organizational priorities, and resource allocation.
• Monitor implementation progress, identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities for continuous improvement, and provide reporting and insights to support effective execution, performance management, and achievement of strategic outcomes.
• Lead organizational performance measurement, reporting, and continuous improvement by developing and applying performance measurement frameworks, continuous improvement methodologies, KPIs, benchmarks, and reporting processes that align with strategic priorities and objectives, support accountability, and enable evidence-based decision-making.
• Analyze performance data, conduct benchmark research, identify performance trends, emerging risks, and opportunities for improvement, and provide recommendations and risk mitigation strategies that drive continuous improvement, strengthen organizational effectiveness and resilience, and support the achievement of strategic outcomes.
• Lead enterprise prioritization processes by developing frameworks and approaches that assess, sequence, and align initiatives, projects, resources, and activities with strategic priorities, organizational objectives, performance goals, and emerging business needs.
• Oversee the implementation of key strategic initiatives, monitor progress, performance, emerging risks, and recovery plans, and provide analysis and recommendations to support executive decision-making, optimize resource allocation, drive continuous improvement, and enhance execution and achievement of the corporate strategic plan.
• Lead the development and coordination of AGCO’s multi-year Business Plan and Annual Report, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities, organizational performance, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams, oversee planning and reporting processes, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop high-quality, evidence-based products that support accountability, transparency, and informed executive decision-making while accurately reflecting organizational achievements, challenges, and future priorities.
• Lead the development and preparation of strategic presentations, briefing materials, and decision-support documents for Executive Meetings, including meetings with the C-Suite, Board of Directors, and Board Committees.
• Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders to synthesize complex information, provide strategic analysis and recommendations, and ensure materials are accurate, timely, and aligned with organizational priorities, risks, and key decisions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support strategic and corporate planning objectives, facilitating consultation, collaboration, and consensus-building across the organization.
• Provide strategic leadership in stakeholder engagement, foster alignment on priorities and initiatives, and leverage partnerships to advance organizational goals and support effective planning and decision-making.
