About The Position

The Senior Advisor for Faculty Development serves as the provost’s chief steward of the university’s academic community. This role advances excellence in teaching, faculty life, and student formation, ensuring that Colorado Christian University’s faculty are developed in wisdom, vocation, and service, in alignment with the University’s Christ-centered mission and strategic priorities.

Requirements

  • A terminal degree required.
  • Each faculty member must be considered highly qualified as outlined by the university’s accreditation and academic standards.
  • Demonstrated leadership across the full faculty lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, evaluation, promotion, and retention.
  • Experience designing and advancing meaningful faculty development initiatives, particularly in pedagogy, faith integration, and vocational formation.
  • The ability to build a cohesive academic culture through retreats, seminars, and shared intellectual life across the College of Undergraduate Studies, College of Adult and Graduate Studies (CUS, CAGS), and CCU-Academy.
  • Sound judgment in faculty governance, with a commitment to clear, consistent, and mission-aligned policies and procedures.
  • Experience overseeing faculty and classroom scheduling systems with attention to equity, efficiency, and institutional effectiveness.
  • A track record of strengthening advising structures that are both faculty-supported and student-centered, contributing to retention and student success.
  • The ability to align faculty engagement with student formation, ensuring that classroom experiences meaningfully shape students’ intellectual and spiritual development.
  • Strong communication skills, with credibility and pastoral wisdom that foster trust, morale, and a sense of calling among faculty.
  • Committed follower of Jesus Christ, who believes there is no salvation apart from faith in his atonement on the cross, by grace alone becoming "born again" thus beginning a personal relationship with Christ, the Son of God.
  • Able to effectively communicate personal faith and apply biblical principles and convictions in the workplace.
  • Must have a strong sense of calling to the ministry of Colorado Christian University.
  • Regularly attend and be engaged in meaningful involvement in a Bible-believing evangelical local church.
  • Knowledgeable about the Word of God and passionate about Christian education.
  • Must be a traditional evangelical Christian whose lifestyle is in consonance with sound Christian principles, is compatible with CCU’s Statement of Faith, and is in agreement with the Strategic Priorities promulgated by the University.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that every academic program reflects intentional integration of faith and learning.
  • Partner with faculty to deepen theological and philosophical coherence across disciplines.
  • Advance a curriculum that forms students both intellectually and spiritually.
  • Teach at a minimum of 12 credits (four courses/year) across all academic colleges and academies, College of Adult and Graduate Studies, College of Undergraduate Studies (CAGS, CUS), and CCU Academy, modeling excellence in pedagogy, faith integration, and vocational formation.
  • Oversee systems for hiring, onboarding, development, evaluation, promotion, and retention of faculty.
  • Ensure consistency, clarity, and excellence across all faculty models within Colorado Christian University.
  • Partner with deans and academic leaders to strengthen long-term faculty vitality and alignment with institutional mission.
  • Develop personalized professional growth schedules for faculty and evaluate according to teaching, scholarship, and service ratios.
  • Lead comprehensive faculty development programming, including pedagogy, faith integration, and vocation-centered teaching.
  • Cultivate a vibrant academic culture rooted in truth, charity, and intellectual seriousness.
  • Strengthen faculty community through retreats, seminars, and shared intellectual life.
  • Develop a culture of scholarship that increases faculty collaboration and faculty-student research collaboration.
  • Encourage faculty engagement with the public--local, regional, national, international outlets.
  • Maintain and refine the faculty handbook and procedures manual.
  • Ensure clarity, consistency, and mission alignment in faculty expectations, promotion standards, and evaluation processes.
  • Support faculty governance structures with integrity and strategic coherence.
  • Oversee faculty and classroom scheduling systems to ensure effectiveness, equity, and stewardship of institutional resources.
  • Ensure advising systems are faculty-supported and aligned with academic priorities.
  • Improve coordination across academic units to support faculty success and operational clarity.
  • Align faculty work with student success, retention, and vocational clarity.
  • Partner with Student Life and academic leadership to integrate intellectual and spiritual formation.
  • Strengthen the connection between faculty engagement and student outcomes.
  • Partner with Athletics and academic leadership to integrate intellectual and spiritual formation.
