The Office of Talent and Workforce Development (NYC Talent) aims to ensure all New Yorkers can access good-paying careers and employers can access New York City's talent. This office aligns efforts across the city's public-private workforce development ecosystem, provides data and policy expertise, and supports program innovations and process improvements. NYC Talent collaborates with government, employers, educational institutions, nonprofits, and philanthropic organizations to align the city's workforce development strategy with employer demand, jobseeker needs, and the evolving economy. Reporting to the Chief Policy and Programs Officer, the Senior Advisor and Director of the NYC Workforce Development Board is a key advisor and manager for NYC Talent priorities. This role involves leveraging resources to build an integrated, equitable, and efficient workforce system, ensuring compliance with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), supporting WIOA program innovation, and analyzing/advocating for policy changes. Specific tasks include interacting with senior staff, implementing new programs, reviewing legislation, producing memos, drafting talking points, and supporting interagency collaboration. This position will also supervise a team of one staff member.
