An opportunity is available for a highly organised and systems-oriented governance professional to join the Group Governance Services as a Senior Adviser, Governance for a 12-month fixed-term appointment. Working closely with the Manager, Governance and colleagues across the Vice-Chancellor’s portfolio, you will provide high-quality company secretariat and governance support across Monash’s network of controlled and associated entities. This will include supporting the board and governance activities of Monash Investment Holdings Pty Ltd (MIH) and Monash University Foundation (MUF), together with other entities across the Monash Group. You will help guide significant matters through decision-making and approval pathways, advise on entity constitutions and delegation frameworks, and support the effective planning and operation of entity boards. The role will suit someone who enjoys bringing order and structure to complex work. You will coordinate board workflows and annual plans, maintain accurate governance records and registers, monitor memberships and appointments, and ensure that actions, approvals and key obligations are carefully tracked through to completion. Your ability to anticipate requirements, establish dependable processes and maintain acute attention to detail will be central to your success. A core focus of the role is the ongoing management and optimisation of our Entity Management System, which supports governance information for more than 80 entities across the Monash Group. As a key subject matter expert, you will help ensure that the system operates as an accurate, current and reliable source of truth. This will include improving data quality and processes, onboarding and supporting users, developing actionable reports, liaising with the system vendor, and working with business owners across Monash’s Australian and international operations. You will also act as an important conduit between senior management, board members, governance colleagues and key internal partners, including the Office of the General Counsel and Office of the Chief Financial Officer. Through these relationships, you will help resolve complex operational issues, streamline governance practices and support a consistent, high-quality approach across the Monash Group.
